Volunteer and Student Program

In addition to our regular staffing, from time to time Impact will take on volunteers and students to assist in the office and with the various services offered to participants. To organise this, Impact has separate volunteer and student recruitment programs.

If you are considering volunteering or doing a student placement at Impact, then the following information may be of use to you.

There are a variety of opportunities that volunteers and students can participate in through different services including:

• Recreation, leisure and holidays;
• Psychosocial rehabilitation programs; and
• Respite services.

The role of volunteers and students at Impact is to:

• Work with people to support them to live their life, their way;
• Assist staff in facilitating individuals to gain the skills and support needed for participation in the wider community;
• Encourage and assist a group to participate in activities or holidays;
• Share knowledge, skills and experience and above all;
• Have fun and enjoy themselves.

As a volunteer or student at Impact you will have the opportunity to:

• Utilise your skills and natural talents;
• Be part of information sessions and training opportunities;
• Make new friends and gain valuable work experience.

There are a variety of activities you may be involved in and they include respite holidays (weekends away, trips interstate and overseas), art and craft programs, pre-vocational programs, and other activities such as day activities, cooking walking, snooker, tennis, computer training and Re-connect sessions.
